Okenite on Prehnite

Item Description

A beautiful association specimen of snow white "balls" of soft / "fuzzy" Okenite which are composed of very thin / acicular white needles sitting on unusually orange colored Prehnite matrix. I'm told that the orange color can be caused by hydrocarbons. The largest Okenite group measures 1.6 cm across. The Prehnites are actually quite gemmy and lustrous when viewed up close. Very good quality overall and a showy small cabinet of this uncommon material. I know that minerals from India are abundant now, but they are some of the finest crystallized examples of their respective species in the world, and should be appreciated as such.
