Item Description

Beautiful snow-white puff balls of needle Okenite are scattered within and are well-protected in this stunning cavernous see-through geode in basalt matrix. Such outstanding okenite specimens and other fine Zeolite Group species, prehnite and calcite specimens were common from the 1970s to about 1990. Urban sprawl of Mumbai (Bombay) closed all the basalt quarries. Ex Richard Rossi Collection. Richard is a Senior Fellow of the Mineralogical Record. A classic and dramatic large okenite geode from Bombay.
