Okenite & Amethyst (Soregaroli Coll.)

Item Description

Nifty puffball sprays of snow-white okenite needles are aesthetically set on the basalt matrix plate covered with glassy amethyst crystals on this showy and excellent combination specimen from the extinct quarries around Mumbai (Bombay). The quarries closed due to population growth. Such combinations, especially with amethyst, were not that common. Choice material from the Art Soregaroli Collection and the piece probably dates to the 1970s or early 80s.
