Item Description

This excellent specimen is from a small new find at the renowned Huanzala Mine of Peru, from mid-January of 2010. It produced a number of pink octahedral fluorites, but VERY FEW blue/green ones, such as this. The clustered, brassy, striated, classic Huanzala pyrite cubes and creamy calcites are super compliments. This piece is STRONGLY ATYPICAL, in that the modified octahedron (3.0 cm), is glassy and gemmy with complicated, etched/stepped-growth, octohedral faces. The color is a very light blue with a light seafoam-green core, and has pretty purple highlights. For the lot we obtained, this unusual and very showy octo is unique. Valued at $500-700. Purple fluorescence on the fluorite and pink on the calcite!.
