Item Description
Eagles Nest golds are a US classic and this is a striking and very aesthetic thumbnail example with bright yellow color. A fabulous, 1.2 cm, hoppered octahedron is tipped with spinel-twins. Flanking the octo is a striking, slightly bent, herringbone-shaped cluster of more octahedral gold crystals at 90 degrees to the large octo! This cluster is also tipped by tiny spinel-twins. The B side looks to be spinel-twins embedded in quartz, but is probably the embedded edge of the octos from the other side. A very nifty and dramatic Eagles Nest thumbnail gold that is a top thumbnail specimen example of this material
