Item Description

Nordstrandite is a rare Al-hydroxide and is a polymorph (the ability of a solid material to exist in more than one form or crystal structure) of bayerite, doyleite and gibbsite. It is VERY RARE from any of the 5 Russian localites MINDAT lists for the species. A 2.5 cm vug hosts hosts numerous nifty sprays and isolated crystals of glassy, flat, water-clear to frosted prisms to about 3 mm. An exceptional and rich rare example of the species and locale. Ex Fersman Museum Collection with matching numbers. A must for the species or locality collector.
