Item Description

A cool and very rarely seen specimen of the copper magnesium phosphate, Nissonite from the type locality, which is one of only two localities in the Western Hemisphere for the species. There is a fairly rich coverage of beautiful bluish-green Nissonite on host rock matrix associated with minor brown-black Riebeckite. We have photographed the crystals under a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. From the collection of noted species collector Paolo Matioli of Brazil, who specialized in rarities around the world.
