Item Description

This is an impressive, solid cluster of intergrown Chloanthite from the historic Schlema District. Technically, this former species is now regarded as an arsenic-deficient variety of Nickelskutterudite or simply as a synonym for Nickelskutterudite. In any case, this is an excellent example of the nickel species, well crystallized. The complex form of these crystals and their bright luster mark them as German, and the crystals reach 2 cm in size. These are old specimens, some dating to the 1800s, and now rarely available. Better in person. From the Type Locality, this is IMPORTANT and huge. Formerly in the collection of Scott Williams. valued $1000-1500
