Item Description

Chloanthite was once described as a species, but has now been discredited. It is the uncommon nickel-rich variety of Skutterrudite - now called Nickelskutterudite. This is an impressive miniature specimen of Nickelskutterudite. from the historic Schneeberg District. Large sharp, lustrous silvery-bright metallic crystals measuring up to 1.5 cm across are a great representation of this rare species. Yes, there is some damage, but this is old-time, and rare material that probably dates to the early 1900s. For an added touch, the piece comes with a label from recently deceased legendary mineral dealer Larry Conklin of New York City.
