Nickeline (rare)

Item Description

Nickeline is an uncommon Nickel Arsenide, and typically is not found is well crystallized specimens. There are few localities for Nickeline in Italy outside of Sardinia, one of them being the Sassi Rossi mine in the Sassina Valley in the Northern Italian Alps. This piece shows metallic patches of golden Nickeline on host rock matrix. This is the first piece of Nickeline from this locality that I have offered in the auctions, and it is certainly rare on the market. A good reference piece of this obscure material.
