Item Description

Preserved specimens of urban geology, especially New York City, are just not that common. This very rare New York City polished pegmatite core consists mostly of pink orthoclase with muscovite and some quartz - all the peg minerals. The core could be from the Fordham gneiss in the Bronx, although exact locale has been lost. It came to us in a box marked "SES SEISMIC" and from a local geologist's collection. Value of such a rare NYC artifact?
