Nephelite / Nepheline with Mellite

Item Description

This piece is from an old East Coast collection, and comes with an historic label from the legendary mineral dealer, Hugh A. Ford. Since the label has Ford's New York address it dates to 1946-1957. The label states that this is "Nephelite" (properly Nepheline) that is minutely crystallized with minor Mellite on lava. I can't find any reference for this material, so I'm only going off the label information.
