Needle Goethite with Quartz (Belsky Coll.)

Radiating sprays of lustrous, brown, needle goethite with quartz cover all sides of this showy, old-time, mounded specimen from a famous locale in Cornwall. Numerous vugs host terminated goethite needles, for great effect. This old mine opened in 1797 and closed in 1883. Comes with a handwritten Richard Barstow green label. Barstow was a well-known English collector and dealer who died in 1982. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. His collection recently became available to us through his family.
