Item Description

A rare and showy old-time combination specimen from this well-known extinct New Jersey locale. A sculptural very rich 4.3 cm wide vein of radiating clusters of snow-white natrolite needles is encased in thin basalt matrix. Lustrous, translucent, amber calcite cleavages and a single calcite crystal are set in the vuggy natrolite matrix. A very interesting and rare old-time 360-degree combination from the Philadelphia Academy Collection # 21733.
