Item Description
The world-renowned Poudrette Quarry (Demix Quarry) at Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec for many years produced hundreds of mineral species, including some of the finest crystals of Analcime ever seen. This small cabinet sized specimen features many sharp, prismatic, light yellow colored, prismatic crystals of Natrolite measuring up to 1.2 cm, associated with some brown colored "rosettes" of what was thought to be Polylithionite, but according to one of our members, is quite possibly Rhodochrosite, sitting atop a very good sized, sharp, lustrous trapezohedral crystal of Analcime of a porcelain-white hue. The Analcime measures 4.7 cm across, which is good size for the species, regardless of locality. I can see one small nick on one of the corners of the Analcime crystal, but the piece is largely in very good condition. If you collect MSH material or zeolites, this in a wonderful specimen that would make a nice addition to your collection. Priced at $1,950 in our inventory. From the collection of Kurt Hefendehl (#9 C), a well-known German collector all over Europe with worldwide contacts to dealers and collectors. He started collecting seriously at the age of 14 and his great and varied worldwide collection reached over 6000 pieces. He was very active mineralogically until shortly before his passing in 2020 at the age of 82. Considering his collection had a large number of pieces, it still had an unusually high standard of quality from most worldwide localities. He particularly specialized in all classics as well as minerals of the Black Forest, where he spent much time collecting. His Black Forest and German subcollections went to his good friend Wolfgang Wendel. We at The Arkenstone have the privilege of offering the remainder of this great worldwide collection over the next two to three years through our various platforms.
