Natrolite & Inesite (Ludi von Bezing Coll.)

Item Description

Natrolite and inesite combinations are rare from this well-known mine. Pearlescent sprays of snow-white natrolite lathes, to 3.5 cm, fill a sculptural vug and are partially surrounded by starkly contrasting sprays of rose-red inesite lathes. Natrolite is rare in the Wessels and in the Kalahari in general. I am aware of only one pocket of the association in this quality and form, and this is a very large piece from the find (late 1980s, or early 1990s I believe). Choice and important combination material from the Ludi von Bezing Collection, a noted South Africa and Namibian expert and principal author of recent large and excellent Namibia book.
