Item Description

Natrolite is an uncommon zeolite mineral, often found in opaque white crystal clusters, but the crystals from Mont Saint-Hilaire in Québec, Canada are some of the finest examples of the species for the simple fact that they can form large, individual prisms of optic clarity. This piece is a great example of said material, as a large percentage of the crystal is GEM QUALITY with very sharp, distinct, well-formed faces, and an excellent termination. The crystal is completely colorless, showing chemical purity. A crystal like this is significant for the species as the WATER CLEAR transparency combined with the fact that it's a single crystal, not a group, is incredibly hard to find. I would put a value of about $900 on this one. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased. This piece is pictured on mindat.org at https://www.mindat.org/photo-184218.html
