Item Description

Minerals specimens from this long closed Trap Rock quarry, operated 1905-1922, are rare. This rich specimen hosts 3 EXTREMELY RARE species from the quarry. Most of the mounded piece is a dense radiating spray of glassy natrolite blades. One side hosts a few light mint-green prehnite botryoids and another side hosts a 2.5 cm cluster of glassy calcite rhombs. Most of the prehnites and calcites are bruised/dinged, but not all. Not great to look at, but this remains a rare and significant combination piece from this old locale. Ex A.M. Hageman Collection. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
