Natrolite (dated 1895)

A true historical oddity AND a really visual oddity as well: this is a fantastic 6.3 cm flattened radial stellate spray of lustrous, translucent terminated natrolite prisms is dramatically set on the diabase matrix plate. MINDAT lists the locale, but there are NO photos of the eight species listed. Ex W.G. Levison Collection # 2631 of New York and collected on October 22, 1895, according to his label. The numbers match to the specimen. Another label with the piece states that it is illustrated (we do not know where!). A UNIQUE old New Jersey traprock zeolite specimen! The Garden State Parkway goes over the site today. A MUST for the locality or species collection. Value?? We feel $750 to 1000, low to high. A RARE and superb OLD-TIME New York area specimen from this long extinct traprock quarry.
