Native Titanium with Yarlongite (incredibly rare!) (ex Bill Wilson Collection)

This is definitely a first for us, as we've never had anything from the Luobusha Ophiolite to offer in the auctions prior to this. The Luobusha Ophiolite in Tibet is a cool deposit where a section of oceanic crust and the underlying upper mantle of the Earth has been uplifted and exposed, with rock types that include, Chromitite, Dunite, Harzburgite, Lherzolite, Listvenite, and Peridotite which have produced some intriguing minerals. Here we have a glass vial filled with a 11 pieces of native Titanium with Yarlongite. Each "nugget" measures between approximately 5-8 mm. The Native Titanium is a silvery-grey hue and the Yarlongite is a steel-grey hue. The Luobusha Ophiolite is actually the type locality for BOTH species! For your rare mineral collectors out there, this is an incredibly opportunity to get your hands on something that is virtually unseen in today's market, so don't miss out. It's unbelievably difficult to find native Titanium anywhere, and according to mindat.org the species was, "Considered doubtful for a longer time, finally approved in 2010".
