Item Description

There are over two dozen mines called the Gold King in the western United States (plus Alaska), and there are four in Colorado alone. This piece comes from a lesser known Gold King Mine (not the famous gold mine near Silverton in San Juan County), but the one in La Plata County, north of Durango. I've actually never seen a specimen Native Tellurium from this locality, but this lot comes from noted rarities dealer Josef Vajdak, so I know it's authentic. A group of five specimens feature bright silvery metallic Native Tellurium in / on host rock matrix. Virtually impossible to find on the market from this locality, and certainly a great bargain to get five specimens for one price!
