Item Description

A very rare seen specimen of Native Mercury from Obermoschel (where the famous Moschellandsberg locality can be found). Upon close inspection, one can see small silvery colored streaks of Mercury frozen within the brown porphyritic melaphyre host rock matrix. A cool piece for any native element collector or a fan of old German material. VERY HARD to find on the market in any capacity. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3235). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
