Item Description
A rarely seen specimen of TERRESTRIAL Native Iron (non-meteorite) from Greeland. The piece comes with an old historic label from the legendary mineral dealer, Hugh A. Ford. Since the label has Ford's New York address it dates to 1946-1957. The piece is richly speckled with bright, metallic native iron in basalt matrix. This is old, rare, seldom seen material. Most Native Iron that we see comes from outer space. This one, however, is from some of the oldest crustal elements humans will ever access, and is a rare find to make it into the hands of specimen collections. Do not miss out on this one. Specimen weight is 120 grams.
