Item Description
A sculptural, large and important, old-time well-crystallized copper specimen from the famous Quincy Mine. The artistic floater piece, with thick arborescent limbs is composed, front and back, of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals with a very nice buttery copper patina. A bit of embedded green epidote is a very nice accent. A large crystal on the back is 2.5 cm. The fragment of the old, faded, Francis Butler label dates from 1887-1927. Ex Sal Avella Copper Collection, who valued this at $1500 some years ago in a trade with me. Current value is $2500-3500. The aesthetic form of this piece is impressive.
