Native Copper (superb crystallization) ex Sherburn

Item Description

From the well-known White Pine Mine, an elegant, three-dimensional cluster of crystalline Copper. The Copper crystals, which can range up to 7 mm, have rich color, a good patina with some attractive iridescence, and varying habits. There is a noticeable and interesting difference in crystallization and form between this and most copper from here. But what makes this so unusual and desirable for the White Pine Mine is overall dimensionality. Most Copper specimens from there are flattened, since they grew along fissures and bedding planes in the Nonesuch Shale, but not so here. The crystal development and overall structure gives these branching clusters a fine aesthetic that is some ways puts them a step above many related Coppers from White Pine.
