Item Description

A rare and desirable post-mining artifact from the famous Globe-Miami District and the Jaime Bird Collection. The fat end of the sculptural, tapered, mine timber fragment is festooned with tiny, very sharp, cuprite-coated, tetrahexahedral copper crystals. There are even few on the tapered end. Copper-rich groundwater perculated through the mine and was deposited on this mine timber. Undoubtably, the mine timber is old material. The specimen is from the obscure Cyprus Mine in the District.
