Item Description

The copper crystals on the sides of this sculptural, old-time, CABINET, plate of native copper from Bisbee are distinctly different! The "A" side is totally covered with intergrown, sharp, tetrahexahedral crystals to about 3 mm with a bright, buttery, copper patina. Far fewer and much smaller (to about 2 mm crystals) are scattered on the rust-brown copper surface of the "B" side. Weird chemsitry here. Excellent and classic, two-sided material from the W. Simpson and Dennis Mullane Collections. The Mullane label dates to the 1960s or early 70s, but the specimen is probably much older.
