Item Description
A fantastic and sculptural old-time matrix native copper specimen from Copper Country. This surreal piece looks like a running lizard with a large upturned head and body, extended legs and striking curved "tail"! The tail is mostly a large stout curved copper wire. The "legs" and "feet", attached to the wire, are partially crystallized and the "head" and "body" are a basalt fragment. That's blue tack on the basalt. This superb copper displays dramatically from either side. From the Joe Lobell Collection of Oklahoma. Try to find another with this artistic, distinctive, biomorphic quality!!
