Native Copper and Chrysocolla in Chalcedony

Item Description

Native Copper is not typically seen in most gemstones, usually it's responsible for creating colors in other minerals/gems, but to find it by itself as an inclusion within another material is rare in my experience. This stone features attractive inclusions of Native Copper (the polished spots on the top of the stone have a bright "new penny" appearance), along with eye-catching blue Chrysocolla aggregates, which are suspended inside of slightly smoky, nearly colorless Chalcedony. I love the appearance of the inclusions, as they almost remind one of some kind of exotic aquatic lifeforms. These stones are completely unique, I've never seen anything quite like them. This gem has a "Cushion Cabochon" cut.
