Item Description

Native bismuth specimens are extremely rare from the two Guanajuato localites referenced in MINDAT. This rounded, tapered, oxide-coated nugget looks alluvial (stream-worn). The sawed base reveals the bright silver color of the typical parallel-growth crystals. The former dealer label (Bill Metropolis) lists Macuala, Guanajuato, a very obscure locality in the State. RARE and excellent Mexico native element material.
