Item Description

Here we have an attractive thumbnail sized piece from a discovery in 2021. This find was quite limited, but produced some excellent Native Bismuth specimens at the Piaotang Mine. To date, this seems to be an isolated discovery, as we haven't seen any more since they were first found. Native Bismuth crystals are relatively rare, especially from China. This piece is a moderately lustrous, Bismuth crystal with a rounded termination, and very sharp and distinct well-formed "casts" where the it grew and constrained against Quartz which was later dissolved away. These "casts" are not uncommon in Bismuth crystals, but I'll bet you've never seen one in a specimen from China before. Don't miss out, very few were found, and I cannot say if more will come out.
