Item Description
A beautifully iridescent 1.5 cm section of corrugated laminar native bismuth really stands out on the two-sided sculptural quartz vein that hosts more sections of silver-metallic bismuth. The quartz vein rests on hefty massive sulfide ore matrix. The piece displays well without aid. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 207. An early specimen obtained in the early 1950s, at the latest. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Classic and showy combination material from this famous area.
