Item Description

Native bismuth specimens of this impressive size and quality are RARE from the famous Schneeberg District. Four sides of the massive bismuth matrix host striking, lustrous, "Federwismut" (feather-bismuth) crystals. The long feather on one side is 6.0 cm! They remind me of the exquisite feather silvers from Batopilas. Undoubtably old-time material, here, rarely seen in such massive form. Ex Irenee DuPont and University of Delaware Collections. Highly prized material. Hefty at 732 grams or 1.6 pounds. valued $1500
