Native Bismuth (excellent rare locality specimen) (2021 find)

This excellent thumbnail piece comes from a discovery in 2021, where a very limited discovery of wonderful Native Bismuth crystals was made at the Piaotang Mine. As far as I can tell, this appears have been an isolated discovery, as we haven't seen any more since they were first found. Native Bismuth crystals are relatively rare, especially from China in this quality. This piece is a wonderful Bismuth crystal with defined crystal faces, and sharp "casts" where the it grew and constrained against Quartz which was later dissolved away. These "casts" are not uncommon in Bismuth crystals, but I'll bet you've never seen one in a specimen from China before.
