Native Bismuth (ex Matioli Collection)

This is a fine quality, and now very hard to find piece of the great old classic Bismuth specimens from the Wolfram Camp locality in Queensland. This locality is completely closed down and will never produce these attractive specimens again. In some cases, we were lead to believe that the faces on these specimens were crystallized, though SOME of them are actually negative "casts" from preexisting Quartz which has been dissolved away. Upon close inspection I can say that this piece is TRULY crystallized showing sharp, euhedral, attractive trigonal faces. If you've ever wanted a great piece of this classic material, don't miss out on this one as very few are available on the market. Specimen weight is 184.5 grams. This piece comes from noted Brazilian mineral collector Paolo Matioli and comes with his collection label. Valued in the inventory at $800 a few years ago, and could arguably be more today.
