Item Description
An incredibly rare specimen of native Bismuth from this old-time mine on the Czech side of the famous Erzgebirge, more recently worked for uranium. This rich and hefty ore specimen is a polished nugget, showing the rich silvery consistency throughout. A rare old-time specimen. The piece weighs a whopping 279 grams. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. Originally valued at $200, but I would say easily $400-$500 today. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
