Item Description
An impressive solid nugget of euhedral, lamellar to massive native bismuth from the Czech side of the famed Erzgebirge. Some of the faces of the lustrous, bronze-colored, metal show the flattened crystals. There even appears to be a partial, large hexagonal crystal in the top of the piece. 127 grams of hefty mass. Very rich, rare and older ore from this noted locale. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection, a noted Czech specialist. The mineral Vajdakite is named in his honor. collected in 1930, according to the labels. As he is an expert on the locale, I trust his label like few others...but I have never seen such a solid bismuth specimen from here before, and it compares favorably to old Bolivian nuggets which might be valued $500-ish for one like this
