Item Description
Highly representative for the locality, this dark grey, botryoidal Native Arsenic is a fine reference specimen of this native element from the Schneeberg mining district in Saxony. The botryoids have a fine, granular texture, and the reverse side has an interesting, secondary growth on it. This miniature was acquired from Dr. Paul Michaelis of Dresden, likely soon after WWI. These pieces are part of a century-old Italian collection that was recently acquired.
