Item Description
A really hefty for its size nugget of solid, pure antimony from a classic, old US locale. It has been sliced and polished to reveal the splendent silvery luster of the metal. There is an oxidized rind coating the outside of the nugget. These turn up in museum or advanced older collections. This one is from the Howard Belsky Collection and has a small old label glued to the back. Weighs 194 grams. Valued at $500-750. RARE OLD MATERIAL, now hard to obtain. Belsky bought this specimen from a prior collection which was assembled circa 1890-1910 or so, and then lost in a dusty attic. It resurfaced in an auction in NYC in around 1975 and his father bought it. So the piece dates to circa 1900
