Item Description

An exceptionally gemmy and large, 1.9 cm, glassy and transparent, greenish-yellow, thin, tabular narsarsukite crystal set in starkly contrasting snow-white matrix on a fine-grained hornfels from Mt. St-Hilaire, Canada. You can look right through the crystal to the matrix! Narsarsukite is a rare sodium, titanium silicate. Mt. St-Hilaire produces the world"s finest specimens and largest crystals for the species. This is a SUPERB ONE. See the Mineralogical Record Special Issue, Vol. 21, # 4, 1990. This mineral species is relegated to the Alkali Massifs,ie. Mont St Hilaire and Greeenland. Fine example, of a rare color varietal found nowhere else. valued $750
