Item Description
This rare lithium sodium manganese silicate is found in a handful of world localities, but the most famous specimens are those from the Kombat Mine in Namibia. The label that accompanies this set states that it's from Tsumeb, but a lot of these pieces were mistakenly labeled as coming from Tsumeb, even though Nambulite has never been found there. The specimen features a 4 mm, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, pinkish-red color crystal aesthetically sitting on matrix. The matching "Freeform" cut stone is by no means clean, but it's really the size that matters here. It weighs 1.56 carats, which is big for a Nambulite (the label actually says it's the largest gemm, wcich is not true), but I've read reports that there are a few stones over 10 carats out there! This is a great combination of rarity and beauty for any collector, and to get a specimen AND a gem of this now very hard to find material is a big deal.
