Item Description

Săcărâmb (formerly Nagyag in Hungary now in modern-day Romania) is the type locality for the rare lead, antimony, gold, tellurium sulfosalt Nagyagite, which was first described from this ancient locality in 1845. To this day, the best and most well-known examples are those from Săcărâmb. This piece features several metallic, lamellar crystals measuring up to a few mm, which are mixed in / on Quartz, Sphalerite and pinkish Dolomite matrix. Specimens from the historic type locality are quite rare and this is a good example for anybody interested in rare classic minerals. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
