Item Description

Nagyagitei s a rare lead, antimony, gold, tellurium sulfosalt, was first described from this ancient locality in 1845. It actually gets its name from the old Hungarian name for Sacarimb, (Nagyag). Several metallic, lamellar crystals measuring up to 1.3 cm are mixed in / on Quartz and pinkish Dolomite on matrix. Smaller crystals are scattered about and you can see veins of nagyagite on the sides of the matrix. Specimens from the historic Type Locality are quite rare and this is a very fine and rich example. This specimen is over 160 years old, and certainly a VERY worthwhile pickup for any collector. Valued at $850.
