Mushroom Tourmaline ex Obodda

A cute and highly unusual miniature "mushroom tourmaline" from the small find at Mogok about 10 years ago. This intensely parallel-growth trigonal crystal has hundred of terminations, that compliment the tapered body. There is a totally gem, pink/purple, pinacoidal nodule at the crest with most of the rest of the crystal being cinnamon-orange with pink and purple highlights on the sides and terminations. Complete all-around and pristine. This is certainly one of the more unusual, yet facinating, mushroom tourmalines, factoring in color and form, that we have seen. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Priced at $400 about 10 years ago, it is worth more today.
