Muscovite with Albite on Microcline

Mt. Antero is one of the most well-known localities in North America for its beautiful gem quality Aquamarine crystals. Most people don't see a lot of other species from this locality on the market. We have a lovely display quality cabinet sized specimen that is not only showy, but it doesn't feature Aquamarine. A large group of well-formed, lustrous, semi-metallic silvery bladed Muscovite crystals measuring 7.2 cm across is aesthetically flaring off a matrix covered with lustrous white blocky Albite crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm sitting on a layer of cream colored Microcline matrix. The Muscovite group is in good condition, though it is contacted on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. When it comes to Mt. Antero specimens, most people have not seen a good cabinet sized specimen of Muscovite like this that is not only displayable, but very showy! A must have for any collector of Colorado minerals, pegmatite minerals or display specimens of Mica species.
