Muscovite, Schorl, Feldspar, and Hyalite Opal

Fine, radial cluster of Muscovite books, along with a classic suite of Erongo minerals. The individual Muscovite crystals are about 3 cm across, and as they stack together, they create a spherical cluster about 3.5 cm across. This growth pattern is rather remarkable and attractive, and certainly unusual. You can see the layers in the pics. The Muscovite is associated with Shorl, more Muscovite, Feldspar, and highly fluorescent Hyalite Opal. The Hyalite Opal, which is often found at Erongo, adds a lot of pizzazz to the piece. A quite distinctive, quality miniature.
