Muscovite pseudomorph after Nepheline (ex Dr. Wouter van Tichelen Collection)

Item Description

A really attractive and very well-preserved pseudomorph of dark grey-green colored Muscovite replacing a doubly-terminated crystal of hexagonal Nepheline, simply labeled only as coming from Greenland. I can say without fear of contradiction that this is the first piece of this material that we've had to offer, and I'm sure if you're a fan of thumbnails or pseudomorphs, you've probably never seen one of these before. The original crystal form of the Nepheline is notably sharp and distinct. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", though it is slightly contacted in a few small spots, so it's not 100% pristine and crystallized all the way around.
