Item Description
Two giant horn-like crystals of lepidolite have been replaced here by a gorgeous, sparkling, metallic-gold muscovite. The piece is large and dramatic - the crystals are 6 and 3.5 inches long! The shape is amazing - truly unique. I have never seen another piece like this either for the individual "horns" or for the overall look of it in context. Both crystals seem complete all around and sit nicely on a natural pedestal of albite and muscovite matrix (the muscovite in matrix being silvery, standard and normal...the muscovite in the pseudo having the unique yellowish color). Overall, I have to say I cannot easily put a value on this specimen - never seen anything remotely similar; but it seems $1500-2000 is not unfair as an estimate. This was a one-off my Brazilian source found running through the markets in the area, and no other was like it
