Fine muscovite specimens from this less well-known North Carolina locale are RARE and this is an outstanding combination small cabinet from the Dr. Ed David Collection. Two, pristine, sharp, stout, hexagonal, pearlescent muscovite books, to 2.7 cm wide, are aesthetically set on the quartz matrix. The smaller muscovites are excellent accessories. Ex. Lloyd Allison Collection and originally found in the late 1950s or early 1960s. Excellent material with Ed's number on the piece. His labels lists Phlogopite, but MINDAT lists only Muscovite for the locale. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections. He passed away in 2017.
