Muscovite (ex Harold Urish Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful miniature specimen of greenish-golden Muscovite from North Carolina. To me, it looks very similar to specimens I've seen from Cleveland County, but I'm not 100% certain. The thickness of the crystal groups, along with associated "rust" colored Limonite is a great sign that it could be from around this area. The crystals are certainly sharp, lustrous and show that electric green internal color when backlit. I'm told the green color is caused from the presence of Chromium in this material. A great old time specimen, now very hard to find on the market.
